UN LAUNCHES AN INITIATIVE TO RECOGNISE YOUNG PEOPLE DRIVING CHANGE TO HELP REALISE SDGs

The United Nations has launched the UN Young Leaders Initiative to recognize exceptional young people who are leaders in the effort to end poverty, combat climate change and reduce inequalities.

Under this initiative, 17 young leaders, aged between 18 – 30 years, who are driving change to help realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be recognized on an annual basis. This is the first of its kind to showcase the outstanding leadership that young people are demonstrating to put the world on a more sustainable course.
