Overview of the National Youth Volunteers Programme

The National Youth Authority has designed the National Youth Volunteers Programme (NYVP). to ignite the spirit of selflessness and volunteerism amongst young people in Ghana.

The National Youth Volunteers Programme (NYVP), a flagship Programme of the Authority is set under the theme ‘Mobilizing Youthful Hearts for Volunteers Service in National Development” in fulfilment of a Priority Area - Youth, Patriotism and Volunteerism” in the 2010 National Youth Policy. This aims at encouraging youth participation in national development through voluntary activities.

The NYVP is designed to coordinate volunteer activities in the country and seeks to implement thirteen (13) Modules with an objective of developing active citizens, foster national cohesion and creating opportunities for skills development among young people.

 

Who Qualifies to be a volunteer

  • Volunteers must be 18 - 35 years of age as at the time of application
  • Volunteers must go through interview process
  • Volunteers must be fit, be of sound mind and interested in community service.

  • Any other person interested to volunteer with a particular expertise

  • Must accept to volunteer in any part of the country

NYVP is envisaged to empower over One Hundred Thousand (100,000) young people across the country in the next five (5) years
