NYA STAFF UNDERGO 3- DAY TRAINING -OF-TRAINERS COURSE IN YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT.

Selected frontline and operational officers of the National Youth Authority from the National, Regional and District Secretariats are undergoing a 3-day training programme in Youth Leadership Development at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The programme, which is being facilitated by the School of Distance Education began on Tuesday 11th February and is expected to end on Thursday 13th February 2020.
Welcoming participants, Mrs. Akosua Manu, DCEO for Finance & Administration asked participants to be committed to the programme and endeavor to imbibe and impact their communities positively with knowledge acquired.

Mr. Nelson O. Ansah ,DCEO for Operations and Programmes who was also present at the opening shed more light on registration of youth groups and said guidelines to ensure the process is in line with best practices across the globe is complete awaiting the final approval of the NYA Board.

Mr. Sylvester Tetteh, CEO of NYA thanked the facilitators for organizing the programme and said the training is expected to empower and equip participants to enable them continue to work in the supreme interest of the youth.
He said the staffing situation of the Authority which is woefully inadequate needs to be revamped to enable the Authority deliver fully on its mandate.

“The story of NYA must change and is changing hence the narrative on the Ghanaian youth must of necessity change”, he concluded.

Amongst modules being treated as part of the programme are; Youth Mainstreaming, Legal Framework of NYA and Crime, Project Planning & Monitoring in Youth Work, Strategies in Youth Entrepreneurship, Gender
