National Youth Authority Organises Free Breast Cancer Screening for Staff and Community Members

The National Youth Authority (NYA) has organised a free breast cancer screening exercise for its staff and members of the public as part of activities to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The initiative, held at the forecourt of the Authority’s head office at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, aimed to promote early detection, educate participants about breast cancer and raise awareness of the disease.

The exercise attracted significant participation from community members, who took advantage of the opportunity to undergo screening and learn more about the importance of taking proactive steps towards their health.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote preventive healthcare and encourage regular breast screening as an important measure in the early detection and management of breast cancer.

October, widely recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month or the Pink Month, is dedicated to raising awareness about the disease, promoting education and encouraging early detection through screening and other preventive measures.

Through the exercise, the National Youth Authority reaffirmed the importance of health education and community engagement in the fight against breast cancer, while encouraging individuals to prioritise regular health checks and seek timely medical attention.
